  • TELL ME A STORY

I have a story that I want to tell it’s about a young lady in the bible name Dinah

Dinah’s love for sight-seeing set off a train of tragic consequences. Young and daring, and curious to know something of the world outside, she stole away one day from the drab tents of her father, to see how the girls in their gorgeous Oriental trappings fared in nearby Shechem. Roaming around, the eyes of Prince Shechem, son of Hamor lighted upon her. He saw her means he lusted after her (see Job 31:1), and then as the record puts it, “he took her, lay with her, and defiled her” (Genesis 34:2). Although Dinah’s vanity was flattered at Shechem’s attention so that she went to his palace, she never meant to go so far. Took her implies he forced her, and although she may have resisted his advances, resistance was futile and she was seduced but before I go any further I want to tell you about a lady that was speaking at my church one Friday night I was in that services she was talking about a lady in the Bible named Dinah ,she reminded me of my friends daughter who was mentally challenged her mom was pushing her a little so she could start to mingle with and be like other kids her age. one day she got invited to a party she was so excited and eager to go her mom gave in and said yes, her dad was not so eager the day of the party her dad wasn’t sure if she should go or not so he decided to drive her there he said to his daughter I’ll wait here to make sure you’re okay her dad waited and didn’t move when the daughter got in the house she asked the mom who was sitting at the kitchen table where her son was his mom and dad said their son was in the basement so she went to the basement where they were she noticed there were no other girls there just three boys and she asked am I early late where is everybody he said they’ll be here come in have a seat I will fix you a drink she told him she doesn’t drink but will have a Coke he said we don’t have any yet they knew she was mentally challenged so she said well let me just go let my dad know that I’m okay I will back she had never been to a party before she went up the stairs and the parent said to her you’re leaving so soon she said there’s no one here but me at the party the parent said what party the one your son is giving my son’s not giving any party so she said okay thank you and left out thank God her dad was still sitting there in the same place waiting on her what if he had drove her there and left her but God let that Dad sit there and wait to make sure his daughter was okay she came got in the car and she said there was no party her dad said why not she said his mom said there was no party so her dad begin to put together what had happen and drove his daughter back home[ lesson learned ]Dinah was not so blessed I was reminded of the night my daughter decided she wanted to go to a party with her college roommates she had never been to a party because she was so sheltered from all of that but she wanted to go

she wanted to be a grown up so she said I’m going I want to see what life is like out here the only thing I could do was say ok and pray because my daughter was grown and made her own decisions naturally speaking so I said to her you are saved you can’t go to parties she said I’m going because I want to see so when she got there it was all guys no women they were the only ones there so she had a seat and just sat there watching her roommates get drunk and became very upset they started dancing in a derogatory way one guy said to her aren’t you going to join us she said nothing he got mad and said to her are you mute that

was the last straw so she picked her purse up and started to leave when she realized her friend was drunk she didn’t want to leave her there so she grabbed her by the arm with her kicking and screaming let me go I want to party she struggled to get her back to the dorm when she got there she called me I said to her how was the party? she said I had to leave but you were only there an hour I know the worst hour of my life I’m never going back to a party again with anyone ever and she never did now she has graduated from college working God blessed her with a good job and thank God for the blood that surrounded her so what I say to people with teenage girls and grown young ladies don’t let them be like Dinah they don’t need to explore anything keep talking to them and pleading the blood over them they won’t go far I promise you well.

    God bless you
